In 1991 *H*E*A*D* Hotel Equipment and Design GmbH emerged from the Westdeutsche Hotelbedarf GmbH,which was founded in 1955 by Egon Steigenberger, and had already been successfully established in the hotel equipment market.

Originally the company's core activity was to supply equipment exclusively to the Steigenberger hotel group, *H*E*A*D* Hotel Equipment and Design GmbH has now been working with other domestic and international customers for two decades.
